Malone Sams

grew up in Midland Community Theatre’s Pickwick Players and Trinity School’s arts education program. Through Pickwick productions and education classes, Malone found a love for using theatre arts as a tool for expanding creativity and building life skills. Malone has been teaching theatre education classes since 2003 and served as Theatre Education Assistant Director of Midland Community Theatre Education Department in 2013-2014. While a student in Grenoble, France, Malone volunteered in a local French elementary school reading and teaching creative movement and thinking. Through years of teaching experience and using theatre as an outlet personally, Malone firmly believes arts education is necessary and also an incredible tool in development of life skills and a creative therapeutic outlet. Upon moving to Houston in 2015, Malone was elated to become a part of The Hope Project where she continues to share her passion for arts education. Malone believes arts education should be available to everyone. Theatre education provided Malone a place for her to find and use her voice, her own persona. One of her main goals in the classroom is to provide a place for kids to find their own voice and explore their full creative potential.
